FELINE:

The National Foundation for Animal Rescue believes that all animals deserve a safe, loving home. Our adoptions are guaranteed and we will work with you to find the perfect match.

Many of our foster homes have children, other cats, dogs etc. This means that our cats and dogs are exposed to a variety of different elements which makes them well rounded, happy, healthy, and well socialized.

NFFAR does not support de-clawing. We are more than happy to show you how to trim your cats nails. We will not adopt to you if you intend to de-claw your pet. We sometimes receive de-clawed cats and we would be happy to match you to one.

NFFAR strongly encourages you to take your new pet cat to your veterinarian for a thorough checkup within 7 days of adoption.

The feline adoption fee is $75.00 per cat this includes:

Spay/neuter before adoption.  Age permitting
Aids/Feline Leukemia Test
Distemper Vaccine (s)
Rabies Vaccine.  Age permitting
30 day flea treatment such as Frontline as needed. Age permitting
De-worming (s)

CANINE:

We believe that every dog should have a chance to lead a happy and healthy life in a loving home.  While most of our dogs are re-homing very easily we do encounter dogs that do have problems; this may be becuase of their past or an event that has scared them.

If for any reason you are unable to continue looking after your dog try to get advise as soon as possible.  We recommend contacting a professional dog trainer, we have suggestions for dog trainers highly regarded in the local community.

If your dog has severe behavioral problems, particularly of aggression towards people, it will be very difficult to re-home.  Aggressive surrenders will have to be evaluated by our professional dog trainer.

Our re-homing program will ensure that your new dog is compatible with your children and any dogs or other pets you may already have. Our homing procedure involves a pre-adopt form and then we arrange to call on you at home to verify your address and to advise on the suitability of fencing, etc.
